York County wood prices over time

The prices below represent the average "stumpage" price that logging companies paid to woodland owners for a variety of common wood products. Up until 2009, average prices were based on timber sales originated on woodlots in York County. Beginning in 2010, the Maine Forest Service began grouping York County timber sales with three other counties to ensure the sample size is large enough to produce reliable results. Those counties are Cumberland County, Androscoggin County and Sagadahoc County.  The prices have been adjusted to account for the inflation rate each year. A landowner can use these charts to compare the price they received for a timber sale with historical averages.
