Comparision of wood prices over time

The prices below represent the average price that logging companies paid to woodland owners for the most common wood products. They are taken from the yearly “Stumpage Prices” published by the Maine Forest Service. Up until 2009, stumpage prices were published under “York County” and based on timber sales originated on woodlots in York County. Beginning in 2010, prices were published under “Casco Bay,” a compilation of timber sales from York, Cumberland, Androscoggin and Sagadahoc Counties. The prices have been adjusted to account for the inflation rate each year. A landowner can use these charts to compare the price they received for a timber sale with historical averages.
