Earn income from selling timber

Landowners facing a decision about whether to sell timber, or “stumpage,” should consider both the short-term and long-term. If a landowner’s only goal is maximizing revenue today, then a contract with a logger is the simplest method yielding the greatest revenue.  If a landowner’s goal’s is more complicated than that, then it is wisest to contract with a forester. A forester can develop a plan that ensures highest revenue return over time and can also incorporate other goasl beside income generation.

If a landowner values maximum revenue over time, then the expense of hiring a forester is well worth it. It’s the fastest way to increase the value of your woods.
